Somerset Steel has promoted Donald Walker to vice president of operations. He will be responsible for overseeing estimating, project management, engineering, and scheduling.
“With Walker’s hands-on approach to construction management, he will maintain an active role in all facets of daily operations as well as financial responsibility in maintaining and managing budgets,’’ company officials said.
Walker, who has been with Somerset nearly 40 years, previously served as senior project manager.
Based in Boswell, Pa., 60-year-old Somerset Steel is a full-service industrial and commercial contractor, specializing in general construction, concrete work, process piping, and steel erection and fabrication. The company employs a full staff of AFL-CIO building trades craftsmen, engineers, and administrative staff and has annual sales of about $40 million.
