American Chemistry Council Awards Transporter Highway Transport 2021 Responsible Care Partner of the Year Award
American Chemistry Council (ACC) recently presented its 2021 Responsible Care Partner of the Year Award to Highway Transport of Knoxville, Tenn.
The 2021 Partner of the Year Award recognizes an ACC partner that demonstrates “superb performance and safety records in the distribution, transportation, storage, use, treatment, disposal and sales and marketing of chemicals.’’
Rick Lusby, Highway Transport’s vice president for safety, said: “To be recognized as Responsible Care Partner of the Year twice in three years is an honor. Being a leading example of safety in an industry where responsibility matters is an emphasis for Highway Transport.”
ACC includes 97 Responsible Care Partner companies that are committed to transparent safety reporting and mandatory audits.

Responsible Care is a global initiative that began in Canada in 1984. It was enacted by the U.S. chemical industry in 1988, and today is practiced in 68 economies around the world.
Founded in 1948, Highway Transport provides bulk transportation of specialty chemicals. The tanker fleet operates from 14 service centers in major chemical manufacturing areas across the U.S. with a fleet of more than 400 tractor trailers.
