The Truck Trailer Manufacturers Association (TTMA) recently awarded EnTrans International its 2019 Plant Safety Award for safety programs at the company’s Athens, Tenn., facility.
The TTMA awards are given annually based on plant safety data from TTMA member companies that provide their annual OSHA 300A Summary Form. It is the same data used by the National Safety Council and Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The awards are given in two categories:
Tank and General Trailer Manufacturers. Each category is divided into three classes determined by plant size.
“Receiving this recognition from TTMA is a great recognition of the hard work and dedication of our Athens team,” said Doug Chapple, chief executive of EnTrans International. “Safety is our number one priority. We are focused on operating the safest facilities for our valued employees.”
EnTrans International’s operations in Tennessee were recognized in Category A for plants with more than 750,000 man-hours per year. The team achieved lower than industry averages for Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR), Days Away, Restricted or Transferred (DART) and Lost Workday Case Incidence Rate (LWIR). The Athens facility uses the latest equipment and safety practices to ensure the highest levels of safety.
