Gerstenslager became president in 2006, and in 2007 added the title of chief executive.

“Gary embraced this role and over his 15 years as president turned Hendrickson into a leading global supplier,’’ said Matthew Boler, chairman, president and chief executive of parent company Boler Co.

Effective Jan. 1, Joy will be promoted “as the fifth president and second chief executive’’ in Hendrickson’s history, the company said. Joy has served as vice president and general manager of the specialty products group; vice president and general manager of the truck division; and as chief operating officer.
