This milestone signifies that General Truck Sales is now capable of servicing and supporting the Mack LR Electric refuse vehicle, Mack’s first Class 8 full electric vehicle. General Truck Sales is the first Mack dealership in Ohio to receive this prestigious EV certification.

The Toledo-based General Truck Sales facility, located at 5801 Suder Ave., boasts 93,000 square feet of space and offers 34 service bays, with two designated specifically for electric vehicles.

The site employs 21 technicians, including eight master technicians and two certified to perform service on the Mack LR Electric.
Bassett selected the Toledo location, a Mack Certified Up-time Dealer, for certification due to its proximity to major highways and its modern facility. The site features a 50 kWh electric vehicle charger and multiple outlets for optimal flexibility and options.

Bassett credits Mack for making the EV-certification process smooth, stating, “General Truck Sales in Toledo, built-in 2017, was purposefully designed to accommodate the expansion into the service and support of electric vehicles because we had the foresight to anticipate the move toward electrification.” The facility also supports sustainable practices, such as recycling batteries, metals, oils, coolants, exhaust filters, and paint thinners, and was constructed with the latest energy-saving features.
