Trimac’s Houston ISO tank depot expansion adds a Gulf Coast location to its growing container-service network. According to Trimac’s September 16 announcement, the Pasadena, Texas, depot was scheduled to open September 21, 2026, with capacity for up to 600 ISO tanks.
Trimac said the depot at 13301 Bay Park Road would provide cleaning, maintenance, secure storage for loaded and empty tanks, and drayage—the local trucking movements connecting containers with terminals, customers and other facilities.
For chemical shippers, tank-container operators and carriers, the practical appeal is access to several stages of the equipment cycle at one address. A tank returning from delivery may need cleaning, repair or storage before its next assignment; coordinating those steps with transportation can simplify the next move.
Houston ISO Tank Depot Builds on an Existing Site

The project expands services at an established Trimac location. According to Trimac’s facility directory, Bayport trucking and National Tank Services already operate at the Pasadena address, with tank cleaning and maintenance available there. Trimac said the ISO depot adds capabilities alongside those existing services.
Houston provides a substantial chemical market around that service network. The Texas Comptroller reports in its 2024 Houston port profile that organic chemicals accounted for approximately $12.6 billion in exports through Port Houston that year. The agency also identifies the Houston Ship Channel as the waterway connecting the nation’s largest petrochemical complex to global trade.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers reports that the 52-mile Houston Ship Channel has more than 200 public and private facilities alongside it. That concentration helps explain the appeal of a depot that coordinates tank services and local trucking in the region. The trade figures describe the wider port economy; they do not measure ISO tank traffic or demand for this particular depot.

For a dispatcher, a combined depot can provide a place to coordinate a tank’s next movement with its service needs. Whether that reduces empty mileage or turnaround time depends on the customer’s routes, appointment availability and required work. Trimac’s announcement did not quantify savings for the Pasadena expansion.
Pasadena Extends a Growing Container Network
The Houston-area addition follows expansion in the Midwest and Canada. Trimac reported in October 2025 that its Markham, Illinois, depot had begun operations on October 1, joining Montreal and Mississauga, Ontario. The company described a network that combines container transportation with cleaning, maintenance, and storage.
In its March 2026 Edmonton ISO depot announcement, Trimac said that location was scheduled to open March 23 and would serve mining and drilling customers, with access to major rail corridors. Pasadena extends the same broad service model into the Houston chemical market.
The depot investment also follows Trimac’s acquisition of Houston-based Service Transport Company. Trimac said that transaction took effect October 1, 2025, and described the chemical-hauling business at the time as having 16 locations and four tank-wash facilities across the Gulf Coast.
More recently, Trimac’s acquisition of California Freight expanded its food-grade operations in California and Nevada. These developments involve different commodities and operating networks, but together show the company adding specialized transportation and supporting services across several regional markets.
Match Depot Services to the Tank and Cargo

Customers evaluating the new location will need to match its capabilities to their equipment and cargo. According to Trimac’s network-wide ISO tank services page, the broader operation offers multiple wash methods, maintenance and inspections, with some specialty cleaning options limited to Montreal. That broader menu should not be read as a Pasadena-specific service list.
Before arranging a move, operators should confirm product acceptance, the required cleaning procedure, repair scope, loaded-storage conditions, and appointment availability with the location. Storage capacity also differs from processing capacity: space for 600 tanks does not establish how many units can be washed, repaired, or dispatched in a day.
