Operators loading flammable liquids need a clear view of what is happening inside the tank: the liquid level, temperature, active alarms, and the system’s response as a compartment reaches maximum level.

Garnet Instruments positions the SeeLeveL Flair™ 808-BT3 for simpler tank truck and trailer configurations, including single-product transport in split tanks. Built on the design of Garnet’s SeeLeveL Special™ 808-P2, the model adds dual-compartment monitoring, digital integration, and connectivity. It monitors up to two fluid compartments.

Level and temperature monitoring

The SeeLeveL Flair display gauge sits at the center of the system. The main four-digit LED display shows liquid level continuously in the operator’s chosen units. A smaller utility display shows liquid temperature and visually indicates when an alarm is active. The system can be volumetrically calibrated for different tank shapes.

That calibration matters because the same liquid height does not represent the same volume across all tank shapes. Using the tank’s strapping chart, the system relates the sender’s level measurement to liquid volume.

Inside the tank, an 810-series sender bar is mounted vertically. As the liquid level changes, a float moves along the bar, and magnets within the float allow the sender to determine its position. Temperature sensors within the bar measure the liquid temperature. The system transmits level and temperature information continuously through a fiber-optic cable.

Configurable loading alarms

Garnet says the system’s configurable alarms can warn the operator as the liquid approaches full and automatically shut off the pump at maximum level. The company distinguishes between a warning alarm that can be bypassed and an emergency overfill shutoff that cannot.

Bluetooth® connectivity brings wireless setup, diagnostics, and monitoring to the SeeLeveL Command™ mobile app. Users can configure alarms and perform volumetric calibration using the tank’s strapping chart. Device logs can be viewed from a PC or mobile device.

Connectivity and operating records

The 808-BT3 communicates via CAN or RS485 for integration with vehicle electronics and fleet management systems. Garnet says the system continuously records activity, alarms, and level changes for months. The company describes this history as supporting troubleshooting, performance reviews, and custody-transfer documentation.

The logs add context after a loading or operating event. Users can return to recorded system activity, alarm history, and level changes, rather than relying only on what was visible on the gauge at the time.

Power comes directly from the truck. The 808-BT3 runs on standard 12 VDC power, eliminating the need for an additional power supply. It works with Garnet’s 810-X and 810-TX sender bars.

Sender-bar specifications

Garnet lists the 810-X sender bar at 1/3-inch resolution and ±5 mm accuracy, and the 810-TX at 1/4-inch resolution and ±3.3 mm accuracy. These are sender-bar specifications; they should not be read as volumetric accuracy for an installed and calibrated tank system.

Both sender models support tank heights up to 87 inches and use field-replaceable lithium batteries with a manufacturer-stated 10-year lifespan. Their listed product-temperature range is -40°C to +90°C (-40°F to +194°F).

The 810 series is used in liquid-transport applications including fuel, crude oil, condensate, and chemical hauling. Garnet describes the sender bars’ fiber-optic communication as an added safety measure in hazardous environments.

For operators running one- and two-compartment equipment, information is available on the gauge during loading, in the app during setup, and in the logs when operating history needs review. The 808-BT3 combines monitoring, loading alarms, and connectivity in a system designed for tank trucks carrying flammable liquids.
