Tremcar’s Andy Mulvey will retire on September 30, 2026, bringing a career of roughly 44 years in the tank industry to a close. The company’s vice president of international sales plans to finish his time with Tremcar at National Tank Truck Carriers’ Tank Truck Week in Oklahoma City.
Mulvey announced the decision in a personal retirement message, reflecting on a working life that began as a design engineer and included Trimac and Quality Carriers before his final 13 years at Tremcar.
In tank fleets, his career connects two familiar parts of the equipment business: the carrier teams that keep trailers productive and the manufacturer representatives who help customers select equipment. His background includes a documented role in fleet equipment standards, years before he sold Tremcar tanks.
From Trailer Design to Fleet Equipment Standards
Trimac’s corporate history records Mulvey as an early member of its Equipment Standards Committee. He and Colin Hughes represented trailer design, working alongside colleagues from field maintenance and purchasing.
That combination brought equipment designers into the same discussion as those buying parts and maintaining trailers in service. According to Trimac’s history of its equipment standards work, the committee helped establish consistent maintenance practices, support training, reduce costs, and address compliance requirements.
The account credits the team with those results. It also places Mulvey’s engineering work within the operating concerns of a bulk carrier, where equipment decisions extend through maintenance, repair, and the demands of daily service.
That experience provides a useful perspective on his later sales career: he had worked within the fleet organization that would ultimately have to operate and maintain the equipment a manufacturer supplied.
A Tremcar Relationship That Began Before the Job
Mulvey’s connection with Tremcar preceded his employment there by more than two decades. In a first-person contribution to the company’s 2022 anniversary publication, he recalled meeting Jacques Tremblay in 1989 while working for a transportation company and beginning to buy Tremcar equipment.

He joined Tremcar in 2013 as vice president, international, after working at Fleetstop Trailers in Calgary. The appointment announcement described a U.S. market-development role, dividing his time between the company’s Canadian headquarters and its operation in Strasburg, Ohio.
According to Tremcar’s company history, the company he joined traces its roots to milk-tank manufacturing in 1962. Food-grade equipment remains part of that business. Tank Transport’s January 2025 coverage of Tremcar’s food-grade tanker expansion described expanded stainless steel production and a California dealership agreement with OMC Custom Fabrication, adding context to the manufacturer’s growth during Mulvey’s tenure. In his farewell message, Mulvey thanked the late Jacques Tremblay for hiring him and giving him room to develop, writing that “he allowed me to flourish and grow in his great company.” He also recognized Daniel Tremblay’s continuing leadership.
His tenure coincided with further investment in Tremcar’s American operations. Tank Transport’s 2019 coverage of its growing U.S. presence described an investment of more than $1 million in an eight-bay service building in Strasburg, supporting repair capacity and aluminum tank-trailer production.
That report identified Mulvey as part of the sales leadership supporting the U.S. business alongside Annie and Daniel Tremblay. The operation combined manufacturing with repair, sales, and leasing, giving customers several ways to obtain and support tank equipment.
More recently, the company added Pacific Truck Tank in Sacramento, California, with the acquisition effective October 20, 2025. A Farewell at Tank Truck Week
Tank Truck Week 2026 runs September 27–30 at the Oklahoma City Convention Center. Mulvey said the final day of the show will also be his final day with Tremcar.
He invited friends, colleagues, and customers to stop at the company’s booth to say goodbye. For a career that moved from trailer engineering to customer relationships across the tank industry, the gathering offers an opportunity to close that chapter with the people he worked with.
